With the upcoming survey season we are welcoming applications for seasonal ecologist roles from both experienced and inexperienced individuals to support our professional ecology team.

Work will be on a project by project basis, where you will have the opportunity to assist with protected species surveys, habitat assessments and post survey mitigation.  Although some work will be during the normal working day, working unsociable hours are to be expected.

Essential:

  • Hold a degree in an ecological discipline, or be working towards one;
  • Be reliable, honest, flexible and willing to work unsocial hours;
  • Have good written and verbal communication skills along with a professional attitude;
  • Have a car with appropriate business insurance (or prepared to amend insurance).

Desirable:

  • Be either a graduate or associate member of CIEEM;
  • Have previous ecological experience and knowledge of protected species;
  • Hold a protected species licence;
  • Have experience of report writing.

In return we offer the opportunity to develop your skills in the ecological sector, full training on equipment and best practice survey methods and a competitive hourly rate of pay. Experience of report writing may also be offered dependent upon the individuals skills and level of experience.

To apply please send your CV and accompanying email to enquiries@sapecology.co.uk.

Ecological Sub-contractors

As a growing business we are looking to expand our list of trusted sub-contractors for the 2022 season and beyond. All experience levels will be considered and are welcomed.

Our work is primarily throughout Dumfries & Galloway, Scottish Borders and Cumbria, however we do travel further afield. As a company we specialise in protected species surveys with a weighting towards bats.

If you are interested please get in touch via email and send through the following details:

  • Your/Company name
  • Current CV
  • Proof of protected species licences and professional memberships
  • A short description about you, your skill set, rates, location and where you are prepared to travel.

Once received we can arrange a mutually convenient time to chat. Please email to enquiries@sapecology.co.uk
